Book Author

Sometimes a writer, others a poet…

As an author, I have been able to diversify my style across different genres, from fantasy to poetry. Both genres may seem disconnected, but there is a poetic magic that intertwines fantasy in verses, and there are verses that transform fantasy into poetry. Through ‘Los Petresqui’ and ‘Perreando en Verso,’ I have connected with readers of all ages, discovering that stories know no limits.

After a strange visit, Dean discovers that his life is not as simple as he thought. Overnight, he acquires a family with supernatural gifts and a curse that, they assure him, is his turn to try to break. To do so, he must find the key that opens The Book of Wisdom. With this, Dean leaves everything he knows and ventures into Etiam, the home of the Lita society, where everything he believes will be put to the test. The question is: Can this skeptical New York boy free a superior society?
Dean and Jake have a new mission: to find the Grand Instructor and finally end the curse. The only problem is, to locate him, they must travel to Nadla Island, to a past time, and with a new companion, Christine LaFountaine. In their quest for freedom, a series of unexpected events and characters will make this journey through time a complicated one.
Seven days to accomplish their goal and an unknown island set the stage for these three travelers. Will they find what they seek? I guess we must join the journey with them. All aboard!
After her videos went viral on TikTok and Instagram, Yana Faris brings us a unique and fresh poetry collection inspired by reggaeton songs. Get ready for a distinctive experience—because it’s certainly not your typical poetry—and let yourself be carried away by the verses of this young writer, in the rhythm of dembow and perreo that charm, challenges, liberates, and tastes like the Caribbean

What the readers think?

My readers are often individuals seeking magic, fantasy, but also discovery in a story. They immerse themselves in the narratives and become part of the adventure and growth the characters propose. Additionally, they enjoy modern, free, and transporting poetry.

About: Perreando en verso
Poetry is a perception that frees the reader. And I, as an ode to the poet, stand up and applaud that colorful person who records reggaeton poetry on TikTok. Because she saw a dimension where melody coexists with lyrics, lyrics with poetry, and poetry with a mischievous perreo.

About Los Petresqui y el corazón encantado
It’s been a while since I read something that kept me hooked, to the point of not wanting to stop reading. It was a shared reading experience with my son, who, despite being 9 years old, managed to pick up on the clues the author left throughout the story. It’s a fantasy book that sets aside magic (gifts) and focuses on delving into basic concepts of the body, soul, and spirit. We found the key; now, it’s up to you. Do you dare?

About Los Petresqui y el origen de la maldición
The author manages to take us on a journey back to our childhood. It’s easy to immerse oneself in the story of Los Petresqui. Yana Faris effortlessly describes a universe created from scratch, with a political and cultural system that encompasses the essence of being, a debate between duty and destiny. ‘El Origen de la Maldición’ managed to become one of my favorite books. There should be more characters like Jake Petresqui. I like how the honoring of who we are is subtly conveyed as the beginning of transformation.
